Grade 8-9

The Senior Phase Digital Skills Programme is an 8-week introductory course designed to equip
Grade 8 to 9 learners with fundamental computer skills needed for school learning, everyday
technology use, and preparation for future digital studies, including the Greycode Robotics Programme.

Throughout the course, learners will:

• Understand what computers are and identify basic hardware and software components.
• Learn how to use a computer and navigate an operating system with confidence.
• Develop basic skills in important computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations.
• Use the internet for simple research, learning, and communication.
• Learn how to behave responsibly and safely when using the internet and digital devices.

The lessons are designed to be interactive, beginner-friendly, and practical, allowing learners
to practise their skills during each session using their own computer.
